Field visit to the demined area of Sisak-Moslavina County

On June 20, 2024, a field visit was organized for the purpose of presenting the latest demining activities on the project “Demining and Socio-Economic Integration” implemented within the Swiss-Croatian Cooperation Program. The implementation of this project ended on June 30, 2024.

The visit included a tour of the demined area of the Kotar Forest and the educational trail, of which the reconstruction was financed from the Swiss-Croatian Cooperation Program, and which was included in the educational workshops of Croatian Forests. Employees of the Croatian Mine Action Centre of the Civil Protection Directorate presented to the attendees the results of the last phase of demining in Donja Bučica near Glina and in the settlement of Žreme, Municipality of Sunja, whereby a total of 3.35 km2 of mine has been demined.

The field tour and working meeting were attended by representatives of the Swiss Contribution Office at the Swiss Embassy, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Directorate of Civil Protection, Croatian Forests and the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds (National Coordination Unit). All those present expressed their satisfaction with the presented results and the implementation of the Demining and Socio-Economic Integration project.
