11 projects are financed through the First Swiss contribution
The Swiss-Croatian cooperation program supports activities that directly enable the improvement of the citizens of the Republic of Croatia, through projects:
Water supply and wastewater of the municipality of Delnice, Fužine and Brod Moravice
The projects will contribute to the protection of groundwater and surface water (Danube and Adriatic basins) and the sustainability of economic development through a safer supply of water services in the area of the city of Delnice and the municipalities of Fužine and Brod Moravice.
Demining and socio-economic integration
As part of the project, demining of the mine suspected area of Kotar Forest in Sisak-Moslavina County is being carried out. Demining of this area will contribute to the safety of the local population and employees of Croatian Forests who live and work there and enable its use for economic purposes.
Eurostars
As part of the project, the participation of Croatian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in international projects focused on research and development is financed. Through the project, entrepreneurs have the opportunity to achieve international cooperation, find new commercial and technological partners and potential clients, and get the opportunity to finance innovative project ideas.
Program of Excellence in Higher Education – “Tenure-track”
Through the project, research teams of young scientists are funded with the aim of their long-term employment. Three research groups are funded over a period of 5 years. Two subprojects are implemented at the Ruđer Bošković Institute, and one at the Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb. As part of the project, a new model of career development was also presented based on clear and internationally competitive and comparable merit-based criteria.
Modernisation of Vocational Education and Training programmes
Through the project, vocational curricula for the professions of chimney sweep, glassmaker, beautician, hairdresser, letter painter and intermedia photographer have been improved in order to better reflect the needs of the labor market and 11 vocational schools have been equipped. Cooperation and partnership with employers as active partners involved in the work-based learning process through their mentors has also been strengthened.
Croatian-Swiss research programme
Through the project, 11 research subprojects of Croatian and Swiss scientists were implemented, within which new researchers were employed. So far, 12 doctoral students, 5 postdoctoral researchers and 3 professional associates have been employed on projects in Croatia, while 7 doctoral students, 3 postdoctoral researchers and 3 professional associates are employed in Switzerland. As a result of joint projects, 30 scientific publications have been published so far. The project also carried out activities to strengthen the Croatian Science Foundation in the management of international projects.
Project Preparation Facility
Within the project, a feasibility study and project proposals were made for projects for the improvement of water-utility infrastructure in the area of Gorski Kotar - Delnice, Fužine, Brod Moravice, and legal assistance was provided related to the preparation and execution of contracts on the preparation of project documentation, conclusion of co-financing contracts, project contracts, etc.
