The Minister of Regional Development and EU Funds, Šime Erlić, received the Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to the Republic of Croatia, Mr Urs Hammer, for a courtesy call. At the meeting Ambassador Hammer and Minister Erlić discussed the cooperation so far and the Swiss-Croatian Cooperation Programme, that is focused on activities that contribute to economic and social cohesion in Croatia, and as such represents an expression of Swiss solidarity with the aim of reducing economic and social disparities within the European Union.
The Framework Agreement between Croatia and the Swiss Confederation for the first Swiss grant was signed on June 30, 2015, with the total value of 45 million CHF, under which 11 projects were co-financed. On September 8, 2022, the Government of the Republic of Croatia approved the conclusion of the Framework Agreement between Croatia and the Swiss Confederation on the implementation of the second Swiss Contribution in the field of cohesion. The Framework Agreement between the Republic of Croatia and the Swiss Federal Council on the implementation of the second Swiss contribution to selected member states of the European Union to reduce economic and social disparities within the European Union was signed on October 18, 2022 and the approved Framework Agreement made 45.7 million CHF available to Croatia.
The Minister and the Ambassador expressed their satisfaction with the cooperation between the two countries so far and pointed out that they are looking forward to continuing the implementation of the previous projects and joint cooperation.
