Within the Project “Modernization of Vocational Education and Training Programmes“ a jubilee conference was organized by the Ministry of Science and Education in hotel Sheraton on 11th December 2017. The main purpose of the Project is to contribute to further development of the vocational education system in Croatia.
The total allocation of project is 2,35 million CHF and it is financed in accordance with the Framework Agreement signed between The Swiss Federal Council and The Government of the Republic of Croatia concerning the implementation of the Swiss-Croatian cooperation programme to reduce economic and social disparities within the enlarged European union.
The overall objective of the project which is going to be implemented for 35 months is to modernize vocational training programmes for crafts in the education sector Personal, Protection Services, other services, and to enable pupils to gain vocational skills and competencies that will match with the real needs of the labour market and thus contribute to better opportunities for youth employment.
During the ceremony, H.E the Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to the Republic of Croatia Stefan Estermann, Ms Vesna Bedeković, the President of the Committee for Education, Science and Culture of the Croatian Parliament, Ms Gabriela Žalac, Minister of Regional Development and EU funds, Ms Blaženka Divjak Minister of Science and Education and the representative of the President of the Croatian Government addressed the audience.
After the ceremony in the presence of relevant stakeholders, two panel discussions were held where it was concluded that everyone in their own sectors will contribute to the general objective of this project in order to successfully connect the labour market with the challenges of modern education.
