Within “the Croatian-Swiss research programme 2017-2023” a video-conference was held on November 30th 2017 at the University of Zagreb and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture in Split, Faculty of Organization and Informatics in Varaždin, University of Osijek, University of Zadar and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Rijeka.
The representative of the Swiss National Science Foundation, Timothy Ryan, gave a presentation of the Croatian-Swiss research program 2017-2023 regarding open competition.
The Swiss programme supports activities and projects in the new EU member states in order to reduce economic and social disparities between EU member states. The Republic of Croatia, as the youngest member of the EU has been a beneficiary of this Programme since 2015. One of the areas of cooperation is scientific research and for that purpose the Croatian-Swiss research programme has been developed.
Croatian-Swiss research programme 2017-2023 responds to the needs of the Croatian scientific community to strengthen international cooperation and to improve cooperation with scientists from the countries of Western Europe.
The programme will be jointly implemented by the Swiss National Science Foundation, as a coordinator, and the Croatian Science Foundation as a partner. It is planned to finance the 10 -12 common research projects at a maximum amount of 400,000 CHF per project.
Joint Research Projects (JRPs) between Switzerland and Croatia shall enable scientists from Croatia, jointly with scientists from Switzerland, to undertake, in the form of consortia, and to implement research activities. Research is to be carried out at Croatian and Swiss research institutions.
